Slapsticon 2004 was produced by Dave Stevenson, Cole & Mark Johnson and friends. It was headquartered at the Lowell, Massachusetts Doubletree Inn with sortees to other sites around the Boston area. Some highlights:

• The appearance of special guest Jean Darling of Our Gang.
• A program of Hal Roach two-reelers accompanied by the Mighty Wurlitzer at Babson College.
• A screening of rare 35mm shorts at the Coolidge Corner Theater.
• A tribute to Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle's talents as comedian and director.
• A Snookie the Humanzee retrospective.
• Rare Mack Sennett shorts.
• The Mark Johnson collection of glass coming-attraction slides.
• A birthday tribute to Thelma Todd complete with cake and candles.
